Abstract

This award supports Phase I of the transition of the Mid Atlantic Twin Registry into a national twin registry developing in three phases. Phase I involves increasing the MATR's enrollment from 64,000 to 120,000 twins in the states of Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina; capturing baseline medical screening and family history data on 50,000 adult twins through a survey questionnaire; and integrating our data with extensive contextual and health outcome data from sources such as the U. S. Census and state cancer registries.
